You will evaluate land use and development proposals and implement planning policies which support adopted City goals and objectives.Responsibilities include:Applying knowledge of City ordinances and public policies to review site plans, subdivision plans, master plans, and development proposals to ensure compliance with health, safety, and public welfare objectives.Managing and analyzing data to support organizational goals, drawing insights, and creating reports to identify trends and support recommendations.Developing performance indicators, tracking them, and drawing conclusions from the data.Managing self-directed projects involving multiple City departments and overseeing consultant contracts and payments.Producing presentations to communicate data analysis results effectively to various audiences.Establishing communication networks and conducting forums with major customer groups.Collaborating on solutions for complex and sensitive issues.Representing the division in interdepartmental and regional responsibilities.Performing other related duties as assigned.Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, urban or regional planning, landscape architecture, public administration, social science, or related fields. A master's degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience at the City Planner level, with knowledge of GIS preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and pass a criminal background check.This is a senior-level, self-directed team position, with potential for working beyond standard hours and some local travel.
