About the Role
Eastman seeks a Senior Category Manager specializing in control systems and instrumentation to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for strategic procurement, driving cost-effective sourcing while maintaining high product quality and supplier relationships.
In this role, you will lead sourcing activities for categories such as Analyzers, DCS, Instrumentation/Controls, PLCs, and Relief Devices. Your main goal will be to achieve cost reductions without compromising quality or service. You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and monitor category performance to align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Utilize market knowledge to provide strategic insights to support decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional teams to realize savings across various sourcing levers, optimizing costs.
- Manage supplier selection and negotiations, fostering strategic partnerships.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key categories, guiding stakeholders through change processes.
- Track category performance metrics and adjust strategies based on data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and laws, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of procurement experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 10+ years without.
- Proven track record in procurement within control systems and instrumentation.
- Deep technical knowledge of control systems and instrumentation, with ability to engage technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and attention to detail skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Leadership experience and ability to navigate conflicts.
- Proficiency in project management and familiarity with capital equipment procurement.
