Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst to join our Master Data Management (MDM) team. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in MDM platforms and a strong background in business analysis, project management, and solution architecture. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving data governance, improving data quality, and enabling enterprise-wide data consistency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS ANALYSIS
- Define, design, and implement scalable MDM solutions by developing a deep understanding of our business processes and data
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, workflows, and data models related to our master data domains
- Translate business requirements into functional requirements for delivery within agile and/or hybrid model
- Review and enrich user stories and epics as needed to support backlog refinement and grooming
- Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams
- Monitor data quality metrics and implement remediation strategies
- Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing MDM systems
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Manage MDM-related projects from ideation through deployment and production support, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment
- Coordinate testing cycles for QA, systems integration, and user acceptance
- Track milestones, risks, and dependencies, and communicate progress to leadership
- Clearly and concisely communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Train business users by preparing guides, materials, and hosting training sessions.
- Stay organized by updating the Azure Boards ticketing system
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & COMMUNICATION
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with business and technology partners
- Proactively ask questions about the requirements or business' needs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve MDM processes and tools
- Support data governance initiatives by defining policies, standards, and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or other relevant field
- Master's degree is a plus
EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years as technical business analyst with a focus on MDM
- In-depth knowledge of MDM core concepts, data architecture, data integration, and data governance
- Strong understanding of logical data modeling and relational database design
- Direct experience with Semarchy DM is a plus, including Semarchy entities, enrichers, matchers, validations, and survivorship rules
- Well versed in project management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Experience using Semarchy or similar MDM products (Informatica, Profisee, Tamr, Realtio, etc.)
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio or equivalent
- Familiar with writing SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting (nice to have)
- Familiar with Azure DevOps/Boards and Agile development methodologies
CERTIFICATIONS & DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in the finance industry, mastering domains such as assets, counterparties, investors, and legal entities
- Professional Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master Certifications is a plus
