Join our team as a Senior Big Data Engineer at Relativity .Job OverviewWe are modernizing Relativity's data architecture, focusing on transforming the Document Data Model (DDM) into a scalable, performant, and developer-friendly system. This initiative is key to our Cloud Native Transformation, impacting nearly every part of our product and influencing customer experience and internal productivity.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement performance improvements for DDM and supporting infrastructure.Build APIs and backend services supporting new use cases.Collaborate on modernization strategies with product and engineering teams.Improve system observability, reliability, and maintainability.Participate in on-call activities to troubleshoot production issues.Conduct code reviews and ensure quality through testing.Required Skills4+ years in building commercial-grade SaaS or tech systems.Proficiency in C# or similar languages (Go, Java, Ruby).Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD.Proven API design experience (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).Knowledge of software engineering best practices.Mentoring skills to improve team productivity.Preferred QualificationsExperience with CosmosDB, CockroachDB, or Postgres.Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps.Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, event-driven architectures, Spark, DataFusion, or columnar formats like Delta or Iceberg.Additional InformationThis role offers a salary range of $126,000 to $190,000, based on experience and qualifications.
