The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for overseeing and administering all aspects of the organization's employee benefits programs. This includes health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management. The roleensures compliance with federal and state regulations, provides exceptional service to employees, and collaborates with internal teams to align benefits offerings with organizational goals.What you will be doing as aSenior Benefits Specialist at MedSpeed:
  • Benefits Program Administration: Support the management and administration of employee benefit programs, including, but not limited to, health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and retirement plans
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations governing employee benefits programs, such as ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA. Assist in preparing and filing necessary compliance reports, including Form 5500s and 401(k) audits
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with benefits vendors and brokers to resolve issues timely.
  • Open Enrollment Management: Assist in leading the annual open enrollment process, including communication planning, vendor coordination, and system updates.
  • Employee Support and Education: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Billing and Record Management: Maintain billing reconciliation and self-bill creation. Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations.
  • System Management: Maintain and update employee records and benefit files in HRIS (UKG).
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to ensure seamless administration of employee benefits programs
  • Leave Management: Serve as back-up support for administration of leave programs, including FMLA, paid parental leave, and other statutory leave requirements.
  • Work to promote MedSpeed culture.
  • Other duties as assigned
What you need to become a MedSpeedSenior Benefits Specialist:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 + years of experience in the field of HR/Benefits, insurance or claims. Strongly prefer workingwith self-insured insurance plans across multiple states
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Proven work experience as a Benefits Specialist or similar role in the Human Resources department
  • Complete understanding of the industry practices and legal requirements
  • Consistently delivers work of the highest quality by maintaining rigorous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated individual
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Excel and HR systems (preferably UKG)
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating MedSpeed's benefit plans
  • Actively represent and support the interests of MedSpeed's internal stakeholders
Compensation StatementThe salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 annually and dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
