Job Summary

As a Senior Behavioral Health Clinician, you will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for clients and families, ensuring they receive the right assessments and coordinated treatment plans. With a manageable caseload, you'll deliver behavioral health and crisis intervention services independently while taking on leadership responsibilities as designated by the program manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized client care through therapy—tailoring approaches based on each client's treatment plan.
  • Document care accurately to meet regulatory standards and our internal policies.
  • Evaluate psychiatric and psychosocial needs to plan and prioritize effective treatment, advocating for client resources.
  • Deliver in-home clinical services and crisis intervention across various community settings.
  • Educate clients and families continuously, referring them to support groups and additional resources to enhance their care journey.
  • Work proficiently across programs catering to clients with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Negotiate care levels and lengths of stay with managed care companies, ensuring continuous evaluation of client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners for integrated healthcare delivery.
  • Conduct emergency evaluations in the community as required by the program.
  • Lead and participate in administrative tasks, including team meetings and staff training, as directed.
  • Assume clinical oversight responsibilities during manager absences.
  • Take on leadership roles and initiate projects as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
    • Minimum three years of experience serving psychiatric patients and those dealing with substance abuse.
    • Solid background in conducting assessments, diagnoses, individual/group therapy, and crisis intervention.
    • Valid CT driver's license.
    • Active LCSW, LPC, LADC, or LMFT license in Connecticut.
