Department OverviewNoggin, a Motorola Solutions company, leads in integrated resilience management technology, offering a cloud-based platform that combines 10 essential solutions into one system, including risk management, operational resilience, business continuity, incident and crisis management, emergency management, and safety operations.The Product DevOps team is responsible for designing, building, monitoring, maintaining, and improving our AWS environments.

Job DescriptionMotorola Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our remote team based in the US East Coast time zone. This role involves deploying and supporting Noggin's systems hosted on AWS, providing expertise to enhance our cloud capabilities, and supporting system architecture and improvements. The candidate should possess a broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Linux, security, networking, and cloud services, with exposure to Azure, GCP, and FedRAMP being advantageous.This role supports global production environments and may require occasional outside-business hours coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize AWS environments for performance, security, and compliance.
  • Develop monitoring tools for early issue detection and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with product teams on operational requirements and best practices.
  • Create documentation for AWS configurations, integrations, and procedures.
  • Support deployment and integration of Noggin's products.
  • Monitor systems, apply security patches, and perform updates.
  • Drive cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure.
  • Learn and implement new technologies, advocating for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage project scopes, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Required Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • At least 3+ years as a DevOps Engineer.
    • Proven experience with AWS cloud and infrastructure management.
    • Knowledge of AWS services like CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, EC2, and networking.
    • Strong understanding of database technologies and IT security best practices.
    • Experience with project environments and business-as-usual operations.
    • Solid understanding of IT networking technologies.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Willingness to work outside normal hours when needed.
    • Experience with CI/CD tools and container platforms like ECS, Fargate, Docker, Kubernetes.

    Bonus Points

    • Experience with Azure and FedRAMP compliance.

    Target Base Salary Range: $98,100 - $196,200 USD. Actual offers depend on experience and skills.

    Basic Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree + 8+ years IT experience.
    • 3+ years as a DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with AWS.
    • 2+ years with infrastructure-as-code (AWS CloudFormation).
    • 2+ years with Bash, Python, NodeJS.
    • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
