Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

Functional Title: Senior Auditor

Office Location: New York (Hybrid)

DEPARTMENT: Internal Audit

REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief Auditor

The Senior Auditor will perform internal audits covering the U.S. activities of the Bank, including compliance, credit/lending, risk management, and corporate functions. Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute audits, in accordance with audit policies, professional and regulatory standards.
• Draft audit reports, present findings to management and develop practical recommendations.
• Maintain complete and accurate work papers and, at times, review the work of others.
• Contribute to audit process improvements and efficiency, including data-driven approaches.
• Monitor and execute validation testing of assigned audit and regulatory findings.
• Perform continuous monitoring activities to identify key changes and emerging risks.
• Develop effective relationships with management built on trust and expertise.
• Perform other duties, special projects and reviews, as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of commercial banking, in particular middle market and asset based lending, including relevant regulations.
• Working knowledge of accounting and audit principles, processes, techniques, and tools.
• Working knowledge of compliance matters, i.e., financial crime, consumer compliance, regulatory reporting, etc.

Technical Skills:

• Working knowledge of data analytics and use of data analytics to improve audit efficiency.
• Proficient with use of spreadsheets, data analysis techniques and word processing computer applications. Experience with TeamMate preferred.
• Well-organized with effective planning and coordination abilities.
• Team oriented with demonstrated leadership/coordination abilities; shares workload and pulls own weight.
• Displays personal initiative, self-motivation and results orientation.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. Prepares reports with objectivity, conciseness and clarity.
• Sound analytical/innovative thinker, who is comfortable making tough decisions and focused on continuous learning and process improvement.
• Improves efficiency by questioning own processes and work methods.
• Ability to understand internal control concepts, practices and methods.
• Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
• Ability to manage time effectively, including ability to multitask and change priorities.

Experience Required/Preferred:

• 5+ years relevant audit experience in banking, specifically evaluating compliance programs, lending activities, and using data driven audit approaches
• Experience in foreign bank organizations preferred

Education Required/Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance) or equivalent.
• CPA, CIA, CISA, or CBA certifications preferred
