ALLIANCE FOR SOCIAL TRUST

The Alliance for Social Trust is a three-year initiative that brings together high-impact community-based organizations, key national institutions, and social innovators focused on trust-building. By convening and elevating these groups, our mission is to share insights and experiences, catalyze meaningful dialogue, and inspire collective action. Through this effort, we aim to amplify their work, support grassroots organizations across the country, and foster collaborative solutions that reshape the conversation around trust, helping us build trust more effectively and at a larger scale. ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Senior Associate, Communications and Program, Alliance for Social Trust will support the initiative's communication strategy, manage digital content and outreach, and ensure the smooth operation of core administrative systems while interacting with a range of partners and internal and external stakeholders.This position will report to the Senior Director, Alliance for Social Trust. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. This is a hybrid, Washington, DC-based position. Selected candidates are expected to work in person at the Washington, DC office approximately two days per week.

At this moment, this is a time-restricted role set to end May 31, 2027, with the potential to extend pending funding and manager approval.WHAT YOU WILL DO

Communications and Program Support

  • Assist with the Alliance for Social Trust communications strategy and maintain a content calendar to align with program goals, events, and milestones;
  • Support the creation of original content such as blog posts, newsletters, or talking points;
  • Track and report on communications metrics, such as email open rates, social media reach, and event attendance, to inform future strategy;
  • Liaise with key stakeholders—including Aspen Institute Communications, Aspen Digital Communications, Alliance for Social Trust leadership, partners, and external vendors—to coordinate communications and branding materials for events (e.g., presentation slides, signage, and other collateral);
  • Ensure all materials align with the program's branding and messaging guidelines;
  • Draft, edit, and schedule content for social media channel(s);
  • Build and edit newsletter and email communications using the platform in iContact;
  • Edit and manage general updates to the Alliance for Social Trust Website;
  • Design simple graphics or visuals using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Research, assemble, and distribute background materials for internal and external meetings;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative and Operations Support

  • Prepare background materials and briefings for the Director's meetings and speaking engagements;
  • Draft, proofread, and finalize complex correspondence and documents;
  • Take notes in stakeholder meetings and disseminate follow-up materials;
  • Coordinate logistics for program-related meetings and calls, including scheduling and agenda preparation;
  • Coordinate logistics for internal team meetings, including room reservations, tech setup, and reminders; and
  • Use digital tools to create forms, surveys, and program materials.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO THRIVE

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in social media, digital and strategic communications, or journalism.
  • BA degree in related field.
  • Adept at content creation, digital communications, and channel management on social media.
  • Skilled at graphic design, Wordpress or website editing, and familiar with email communication platforms (e.g. iContact, MailChimp, etc.).
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, including ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines without losing attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrated experience being proactive and self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen desire to execute administrative tasks including scheduling and logistics.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and quality-focused.
  • Familiarity with the social trust, civic engagement, or democracy space, and nonprofit environment is a plus.
