POSITION: Senior Algorithm Scientist

FULLTIME/PARTTIME: Full time

LOCATION: Irvine, CA

SCHEDULE: M – F 40hrs

SALARY RANGE: 0 – 250K(Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base pay information is based on market location.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in analyzing pulsatile signals obtained from devices utilized in clinical studies, developing algorithms based on an understanding of the underlying physiology, and successfully applying the algorithms to new clinical data sets.
  • They will ideally have experience with cuffless blood pressure. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment emphasizing teamwork to reach common goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, validate, and test algorithms for estimating physiological parameters from optical signals.
  • Design and carry out detailed analyses of data collected from prototype sensors and human subject studies.
  • Summarize findings and progress in written reports, and communicate results within project teams.
  • Provide input on hardware design and the design of human subject studies.
  • Help formalize data structures, data collection process, data storage, and data analysis.
  • Work closely with the rest of the Sensors Product Engineering team as well as cross-functionally to support the execution of the sensing technology roadmap that supports customer needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in engineering, mathematics, statistics, chemistry, or computer science.
  • Minimum 3, preferably 5+ years' experience in algorithm development.
  • Expertise in physiological data analysis and modeling methods.
  • Experience with cuffless blood pressure sensing is a plus.
  • Fluency with the scientific Python stack (NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn) and collaboration through Git.
  • Knowledge of human physiology, especially cardiovascular physiology.
  • Experience with human research subject study design, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop algorithms that were validated using real-world device data.
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn emerging technologies.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Use of computers and technology.
