About the Job:

We are seeking an ambitious, self-initiated, and product-minded Senior AI Engineer with a track record of AI excellence at top technology ventures to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will originate, lead, and deliver on critical, 0-to-1 AI projects across the company while maintaining the highest level of communicative and operational excellence in your relationships with your fellow leaders.

You will work closely with the Head of Technology at Redesign Health and will work hours overlapping with Eastern Time. You will participate in a hybrid work environment at the Redesign Health Bengaluru office.

What You'll Do:

Redefine how AI startups are built in healthcare. You will design and ship LLM-based technologies to unlock one of the world's densest and highest-impact repositories of healthtech venture knowledge. You will constantly raise the bar on the level of technical sophistication that we embody and offer to our founders.

Architect the first AI- healthcare venture builder. You will deeply understand the hardest parts of building global health technology ventures at scale and lead projects to supercharge our initiatives in areas from healthcare domain agentic deep research to LLM-led knowledge graph construction.

Dream like an early startup engineer…but build with the institutional resources of an established player. You will build many (many) POCs, test hypotheses about the tools you build, and place informed bets about which problems need lower- or higher-fidelity solutions. You will be a walking, talking Center of AI Excellence and will credibly opine on what can be built, bought, or integrated.

What You'll Need :

• You hold a graduate degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a similar field from an IIT, or were in the top decile of your class at a major global university.

• You have spent 6+ years in a senior technical role at a major venture-backed startup. Bonus points if you have previously founded your own startup and built a product from 0-1, or have worked in an investment environment.

• You are an expert in Python (and relevant frameworks like asyncio, FastAPI, PyTorch) and in at least one agentic framework (e.g., LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, autogen, Google ADK/A2A).

• You have a deep understanding of how LLMs work and have built multi-step agentic workflows more complicated than basic RAG.

• You have built stateful agentic workflows, MCPs, and LLM tool hooks; bonus points if you have a pre-LLM background in knowledge graphs and semantic search.

• You are proficient in and have built apps on the modern data stack, for example AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Flask, Pydantic, Pytorch, Tensorflow, LangChain, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, and others.

• LLMs are a crucial part of your development environment and you have customized and optimized your AI-enabled development workflow, for example via .clinerules or agents.md.

• You have outstanding communication skills and executive presence, enabling you to work effectively across a distributed team.

• Technology is one of your passions, but you find deep meaning in some other pursuit to which you've devoted your time, thought, and effort; for example a creative or athletic outlet or a family business.
