Senior Accountant

IDEX Health and Science, a global authority in Optics and Fluidics, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Inventory and Costing Team. This role is essential for analyzing inventory costs related to manufacturing processes at our Optics and Fluidic sites.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accurate collection and reporting of cost-related financial data and conducting cost variance analysis. The role requires interpreting business information, preparing professional journals, and understanding technical policies. The position involves generating reports and presenting findings to management, finance, and operations teams.

The Senior Accountant reports to the Cost and Inventory Controller and collaborates with other Business Partners, site leaders, FP&A analysts, and teams across the organization to standardize Cost & Inventory functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing daily manufacturing activities, providing variance and root cause analysis.
  • Performing daily cost accounting tasks such as:
  • Reviewing cycle counts and inventory adjustments.
  • Managing new part costing and engineering change orders/revisions.
  • Ensuring work order accuracy and analyzing variances.
  • Reconciling monthly inventory General Ledger to perpetual records and balance sheets.
  • Analyzing quarterly Excess and Obsolete Inventory.
  • Calculating direct material inflation and tracking year-over-year changes.
  • Performing quarterly intercompany profit elimination analysis.
  • Partnering with sites for physical inventories and completing monthly compliance reports.

    • Additional responsibilities include analyzing material and labor variances, recommending process improvements, completing SOX audits, overseeing annual cost rolls, and supporting forecasting and budgeting.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
    • 2-3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting, familiar with standard cost methodology.
    • Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards, Excel, SAP Web Intelligence, OneStream, and Power BI.

    Total Rewards: Salary range $76,200 - $114,400, with potential performance bonus.
