This role requires a proactive, process improvement-oriented mindset, with the ability to create efficient, replicable processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Senior Corporate Accountant will also play a key role in supporting various lines of the Profit & Loss (P&L) across the company, acting as the first point of contact for financial reporting and accounting questions.

  • Variance Analysis & Trend Understanding: Perform variance analysis on balance sheet (BS) and income statement (IS) accounts. Identify and understand historical trends to inform business decision-making and financial forecasting.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvements within the accounting team, focusing on creating efficient, standardized procedures for financial entries and reconciliations. Develop SOPs that are replicable, timely, and ensure efficiency across accounting processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, focusing on variance analysis and financial trends across the corporate side of the business. This includes supporting specific lines of the P&L.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, with a particular focus on payroll, benefits, and tax-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • P&L Support: Provide corporate support for specific P&L lines, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting across the business.
  • First Point of Contact: Act as the first point of contact for questions related to financial reporting, accounting entries, and variance analysis. Provide guidance and clarification to internal teams and stakeholders as needed.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments within the organization, providing insights and financial support to operations and other business units to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Anticipate potential accounting or reporting issues and proactively work to resolve them. Provide recommendations for process improvements and ensure accounting practices are up-to-date with current standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros for data management and analysis.
  • Proven ability to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, particularly in areas such as payroll, benefits, and tax accounts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
