Senior Accountant - Red Shift : Job Details

Our client, who is a leading organization headquartered near Schenectady, NY, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its collaborative and forward-thinking finance team. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant will include:

• Prepare journal entries based on business data and ensure accurate ledger postings
• Compile and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows)
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in compliance with accounting standards
• Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Support tax return preparation and ensure adherence to tax regulations
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation
• Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data for decision-making
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in accounting processes and operational efficiency
• Embrace additional tasks as needed, supporting the team's mission to drive excellence and positively impact customers

Job Requirements Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of accounting experience; public accounting background preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and relevant regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, up to $95,000.
