1. Participates in the delivery of patient care by performing basic and specialized physical and psychosocial interventions as defined by the Patient Care Technician Skill Inventory. Tasks include collecting and recording of specimens and body fluids .. Under the direct supervision of a nurse, performs direct patient care affecting the well being, comfort and safety of patients .. Performs technical procedures and reports findings to the nursing staff. Tasks include: performing venipuncture for blood samples, performing EKG's, placing electrodes and obtaining telemetry readings ..
