Description

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Associate/Principal Engineer, Hydrogeologist, or Scientist in a related field to join our successful team of remediation professionals within our Environmental Services Group. The successful candidate will lead projects and pursuits in the Sediments market, managing a dedicated team of professionals to ensure profitable growth and project execution. Responsibilities

  • Lead sediment remediation projects, providing technical guidance from site investigation through restoration.
  • Drive business development efforts to expand the sediment portfolio nationally.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to capture project leads and convert design projects into construction opportunities.
  • Manage project teams, oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
  • Manage project budgets, proposals, and client communications, ensuring financial success.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Represent the company at professional meetings and develop client relationships for new business opportunities.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related field; 7+ years of consulting experience (15+ preferred).
    • Master's Degree may substitute for one year of experience.
    • Proven leadership in practice/business growth within remediation markets.
    • Expertise in sediment fate and transport, active remediation methods, and regulatory frameworks (CERCLA, RCRA, etc.).
    • Strong communication and analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary range: $155,000 - $260,000 annually, based on experience and location. Includes base salary, bonus, ESOP, and 401(k). Extensive benefits package covering insurance, wellness, and time off.

    Locations & Travel

    Multiple U.S. locations including Chicago, Downers Grove, Wallingford, Baltimore, Vancouver, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Duluth. Travel up to 25%.
