Security Specialist - Veterans Preferred

Compensation: A newly hired Protector in Los Angeles will earn no less than $75,000 in their first year. Protectors based in Los Angeles could earn up to $100,000 in the first year, considering prior relevant experience, GDBA Training Academy performance, and promotion opportunities.

This is a full-time position with benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401(k).

Your Role as a Protector:
  • Monitor property using GDBA Command Center tools and technology
  • Screen visitors and vendors; control access to protected sites
  • Coordinate and execute security plans; respond to medical emergencies
  • Provide physical protection and logistical support at clients' homes and during travel
  • Provide secure transportation as needed
  • Survey and prepare locations prior to client arrival
  • Document suspicious activity in detail
  • Maintain readiness to address any threat
Who You Are:

Veterans make up over 60% of GDBA's workforce—military-experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. Active National Guard or Reservists: GDBA accommodates drill schedules and activations. Active-duty service members can apply within 90 days of ETS and may attend our Essential Protector Skills Academy (EPS) during Terminal Leave. Our successful Protectors come from diverse backgrounds and succeed through effective communication, physical fitness, willingness to learn, honesty, and teamwork. Our promotion system is merit-based; performance is prioritized over seniority.

Expectations for Candidates:
  • Complete 12-day Introductory EPS Training Academy
  • Participate in the 2-year Professional Leadership Track (PLT) including 500 hours of training, mentoring, and certification, plus four advanced academies
  • Maintain drug and nicotine-free status
  • Pass a pre-employment background check
  • Be able to swim

  • $1,500 sign-on bonus

  • Up to $2,500 stipend for CCW Licenses
  • Up to $1,000 for certifications like EMT, Lifeguard, NRA, Pilot, Maritime
