Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure school environment, including patrolling the campus, monitoring student behavior, enforcing policies, intervening in incidents, monitoring security cameras, and assisting in emergencies. May require work during evenings and weekends. This is a district-wide assignment with potential re-locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety by patrolling and monitoring school areas, intervening in conflicts, and enforcing safety policies. Assist visitors. [Daily, 30%]
• Monitor students during lunch and off-hours. [Daily, 25%]
• Assist in investigations using security cameras and conducting searches. Support during crises. [Daily, 20%]
• Discuss and mediate infractions, document incidents, and report hazards. [Daily, 10%]
• Supervise students in detention or alternative settings. [Daily, 5%]
• Provide security at extracurricular events outside school hours. [Weekly, 5%]
• Perform other duties as assigned. [Daily, 5%]

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Appropriate uniform as designated.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Culturally competent and committed to improvement.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment, Microsoft Office, radio procedures, organizational, interpersonal, and public relations skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work alone or in teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
• Ability to prioritize safety and customer service.
• Background check and fingerprinting required.

Certifications and Licenses

• Colorado drivers license and insurance.
• CPR/First Aid within one year of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within one year of hire.
• FEMA ICS 100 within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree.
• Experience in a school district or emergency response.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Bilingual skills.
• Knowledge of Raptor Visitor Management.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Must pass physical exam including endurance tests.
• Heavy physical effort, including lifting over 50 pounds.
• Prolonged standing, walking, and physical activity.
• Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and special events.

Additional Details

• Entry level, full-time position.
• Functions include security, management, and IT in education settings.
