$18.00/hr - $19.00/hr

Job Summary The Dispensary Security Officer at Premo Cannabis Company is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the store, its employees, customers, and assets. This includes monitoring entry and exit points, preventing theft or unauthorized access, de-escalating conflicts, and maintaining compliance with state and local cannabis regulations. Security Officers are expected to provide a welcoming yet secure presence while maintaining a professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor. Part-Time Security Officers work between 15-29 hours per week. Applicants must be over the age of 21 and consent to a State and Federal Background check. Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong security presence at all entry and exit points, verifying customer identification and compliance with state regulations
• Monitor surveillance cameras and conduct routine security patrols within and around the dispensary premises
• Prevent unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, and other potential threats
• De-escalate tense situations and intervene when necessary while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
• Ensure the safety of customers and employees by monitoring for suspicious activity and addressing security concerns promptly
• Assist store personnel in handling any disturbances, including customer disputes or disruptive behavior
• Secure cash handling procedures by monitoring transactions and escorting staff when necessary
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, or security breaches with prompt action and coordination with local law enforcement if required
• Maintain detailed incident reports and security logs
• Educate staff on emergency procedures, including evacuation plans, robbery response, and safety protocols
• Assist with opening and closing procedures to ensure a secure store environment
• Ensure compliance with all cannabis regulations regarding security and safety
• Uphold a friendly yet authoritative presence, reinforcing a safe and comfortable environment for customers and staff
• Communicate with store leadership and provide feedback on security concerns or improvements

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Preferred experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or loss prevention
• Cannabis industry security experience is a plus
• Familiarity with New Jersey cannabis security regulations is highly preferred
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high-stress situations professionally
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and conduct physical patrols
• Proficiency in using security systems, surveillance cameras, and radio communication
• Must comply with all state and federal regulations for working in the cannabis industry
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Strong team player with a positive attitude and work ethic
