Duties & Responsibilities:
Document, file, update, and maintain all investigative actions in the PeopleSoft (PS) and SISPV SharePoint (SP) security system of records.Collect, research, investigate, resolve security concerns, and document findings following Federal Investigative Standards (FIS) Expandable Focused Investigation (EFI) Module. Complete a Report of Investigation (ROI) with no more than a 5% error rate, and forward all relevant information to the Adjudications Branch (SISPA) for final adjudicative determination within established timelines.Collaborate, coordinate, and share information with internal/external stakeholders such as NGA Office of the Inspector General, Office of Counter Insider Threat, Office of Counterintelligence, Office of General Counsel, Human Development, and others as directed by SISPV leadership.Gather and develop information from various sources, following up to ensure timely action on all CEP events.Prepare accurate, detailed, and organized ROIs, maintaining a maximum of 5% error rate.Coordinate with sources to resolve missing or discrepant information, ensuring thorough attention to detail.Prepare all applicable filer notifications regarding SFDP to NGA filers at specified intervals.Investigate and process CE/CV cases within designated timeframes for the filing season.Access and apply the 13 adjudicative guidelines/areas of concern in accordance with FIS EFI, new Federal Personnel Vetting Standards, and SEAD guidance.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Required:
- Comprehensive interview skills to detect anomalies, resolve issues, and cover developed information.
- Clear and concise writing skills.
- Positive, engaging communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to meet timelines per Federal Standards and EFI requirements.
Desired:
- Certification in Federal Background Investigator Training Program (FBITP).
- Certification as a General Investigator (GS1810 series).
Minimum/General Experience & Education:
- High School Diploma.
- 7-10 years of personnel security background investigation experience.
