Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Security Officer. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing security by protecting Medical Center patients, faculty, staff, students, and visitors and by preventing destructive acts to Medical Center property.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Investigates and follows-up on all incidents that compromise the safety and security of the Medical Center community or property.
  • Patrols Medical Center grounds and facilities in order to safeguard life and property.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Prioritizes, completes and communicates assigned work.
  • Communicates effectively with all departments, the Medical Center community and visitors.
  • Prepares reports as required.
  • Responds to the needs and requests for assistance from the Medical Center community and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent. Valid New York State Security Guard License. Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Required Licenses: Basic Life Support Cert

Preferred Qualifications: Valid New York State Drivers License. Prior military/law enforcement experience or Fire Safety Director Certification a plus. Prior healthcare experience. Verbal and physical de-escalation training. Computer literate.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,900.56 - $79,570.56 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
