Job Responsibilities

• Identify and apprehend shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of CCTV cameras.
• Report writing.
• Interact with local law enforcement as needed.
• Provide courtroom testimony as required.

Job Requirements

• Pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must be able to obtain a license through Columbia PD.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time.
• Reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to write legible, accurate, and clear reports.
• Assertiveness and control in dealing with confrontations.
• Trustworthiness and ability to work independently.
• Reliable attendance; tardiness and absenteeism are not tolerated.
• Previous loss prevention or law enforcement experience is a plus but not required.
• Criminal justice or related studies background is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
