Description

Amazon's Information Security Penetration Testing Team is seeking a Security Engineer to help keep Amazon secure for its customers. In this role, you will attack Amazon's services, applications, and websites to discover security issues and report them to our internal technology teams. This position offers challenging opportunities both technologically and as a leader, and involves hacking Amazon alongside a team of highly skilled individuals.

Amazon's Security Engineers are expected to be proficient in multiple domains. They work closely with various teams within Information Security, providing technical leadership and advice across Amazon. You will gain in-depth knowledge of Amazon's infrastructure, using it to find vulnerabilities in services, processes, and technologies throughout the company. The role requires sound judgment in balancing short-term fixes with long-term security and business goals, resilience, tact in ambiguous situations, and thought leadership. A customer-obsessed mindset is essential to ensure the security of Amazon and its customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality application penetration tests independently or as part of a team.
  • Create detailed engagement plans and document findings, gaps, and remediation recommendations.
  • Contribute to team tooling, innovation, and improvements.
  • Collaborate with partner teams, service owners, Information Security, and senior leadership to influence and prioritize security findings and their resolution.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
    • Experience with AWS products and services.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++.
