Responsibilities
- The Director of Security will be responsible for every aspect of security and safety at a newly constructed multifamily residential community in Manhattan, NYC (Chelsea).
- Overseeing the third-party security firm, ensuring proper site control, and liaising with local law enforcement and other agencies to prevent and investigate criminal activity.
- Develop and implement security programs to maintain a safe and secure living environment for residents and staff.
- Schedule and manage security coverage; analyze incident reports and recommend changes as needed.
- Maximize use of security technology (cameras, lighting, alarms, fencing, gates) to ensure proper site control.
- Interface with the management team and resident population to enforce house rules and foster a sense of community.
- Identify sources of and address unacceptable behavior and enforce policies and procedures as required.
Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of previous law enforcement experience (NYC preferred).
- Excellent working relationships with police and other law enforcement agencies preferred (e.g., DEA, FBI, US Marshals).
- Strong integrity and character; deep sense of community awareness and dedication to improvements.
- Proven ability to build trust within diverse communities and solve problems through collaboration and proactive leadership.
- Ability to work in a challenging, multicultural environment with accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
Compensation
- $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 / year
- Annual performance bonus; comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and paid time off.
