Job Summary:

The Security and Controls Lead will oversee digital governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) within AES's electric utility digital operations in Indiana and Ohio. This role ensures adherence to digital policies and industry standards, focusing on compliance. The Lead will collaborate with various departments to develop and implement compliance programs, risk strategies, and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with Digital regulations, standards, and policies. Develop and maintain compliance programs, conduct audits, and manage reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Develop strategies, conduct assessments, and monitor mitigation activities.
  • Governance: Develop governance frameworks, establish policies, and ensure communication and adherence across the organization.
  • Audit and Reporting: Conduct audits, track progress, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop training programs on compliance and risk management, promoting a culture of awareness.
  • Collaboration: Work with legal, finance, digital, and operations teams to coordinate compliance and risk efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to broaden control and compliance coverage, and improve GRC processes.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, IT, Engineering, or related field.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISM) are desirable but not required.
    • At least 3 years of experience in governance, risk, and compliance, preferably in the electric utility sector.
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Experience in developing and delivering compliance training.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; experience with GRC software is a plus.
