We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line and Prep Cook to join our seasonal culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of and handling practices. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly andefficiently, supporting the chefs in meal preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Help cooks during meal preparation by following recipes and instructions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen work areas, including proper storage of food items.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Support the team in maintaining inventory levels by notifying supervisors of low stock or needed supplies.
- Keep up with the demands of a rotating menu and event banquet demands.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods.
- Follow Closing proceedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques are advantageous.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills as part of a dynamic culinary team.
