Connected Health Care, a premier recruitment and staffing firm specializing in Healthcare and Educational Services, is seeking a qualified and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for a full-time school-based position near Homer, Georgia. This is a meaningful opportunity to support students with hearing impairments in reaching their academic and personal goals through specialized instruction and communication support.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Utilize various modes of communication including sign language, oral communication, cued speech, and assistive technology
Collaborate with general education teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and school staff
Provide direct instruction in academic content and language development
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet evolving needs
Support family engagement and offer consultation on communication strategies
Ensure compliance with IDEA and all applicable educational regulations
Education & Certification Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or related field
Valid Georgia teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or ability to obtain)
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
Experience in school-based or pediatric settings highly valued
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Contract Details
Length: 43 weeks
Schedule: Full-time during school hours
Compensation: Up to $2,362.50/week or $63/hour based on experience
