SCHOOL HEALTH ASST - ORANGE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS : Job Details

Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform school-based duties associated with the daily operation of the clinic. Employees in this classification function at an entry level capacity and perform basic first aid duties associated with treating sick or injured student. Performs related work as directed. Responsibilities and Qualifications EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light. Administers first aid for minor cuts and injuries and provides care for ill students (not chronic conditions). Reviews immunization records for compliance and completes/reviews medical records in students' cum folders. Dispenses medication to students. Conducts vision/hearing screenings as well as scoliosis screening. Conducts follow-up on health screenings and referral to Learning Community-based RN as necessary.
