[email protected] School Counselor - Flint Area Learning Program - Crisp & Sumter Pay commensurate upon experience - 20 to 30 hours/wk Working with Special Education students with social and emotional behavior issues. Key Skills and Qualifications: Master's degree in school counseling or a related field, and Ga PSC School Counseling certification. Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff. Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions, assess student needs, and develop appropriate interventions. Understand the developmental needs of students at different grade levels. Familiar with the ASCA National Model and other relevant guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Competency to identify and address student needs, resolve conflicts, and manage crises. Responsibilities Include: Provide individual/group counseling and group guidance to students on academic, career, and personal/social emotional issues. Help students develop study skills, time management, and strategies for academic success. Assist students in exploring career options, setting goals, and planning for post-secondary education or training. Help students develop positive relationships, coping strategies, and social skills. Provide support and guidance during crisis situations and collaborate with other professionals as needed. Collaborates with teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and other school staff to support student development and well-being. Implement school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model. Analyze student data, IEPs to identify needs, monitor MTSS/RTI progress, and effectiveness of the program. Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources. Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
