ANNOUNCEMENT Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time SWIC Educational Employee position of Scheduling Coordinator. POSITION DESCRIPTION In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, varied managerial, involving complex work methods and tools, problem resolution, and interpersonal relations. Using modern office technologies: coordinates and supervises development and publication of the course (marketing) schedule; maintains computer-based classroom utilization; develops and implements computer-based information systems innovations, and trains staff; identifies, solves, or coordinates resolution of computer problems; reviews course-building and cancellation activities; disseminates information to state agencies and administrative/instructional areas of the college. Work entails using popular computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database, networking), as well as the PeopleSoft Student Administration software. Managerial functions require independent judgment and interpretation of college policies and regulations, based on training and on-the-job experience. Works independently, referring only unusual matters within the above categories to the Vice President; and dependently, completing tasks and assignments for the Vice President when requested, and supporting the administrative function of the Vice President's office. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Associate degree in Computer Information Systems, Office Administration or a related field, plus two (2) years of related full-time work experience is required. Prefer a Bachelor degree in a related field, and computer networking experience. 2. Must demonstrate ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
