The Department of Commerce, Office of the Secretary is currently accepting applications for a Scheduler, to work in its Downtown Raleigh office.This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, as well as retirement. Salary Grade: NC09**Recruitment Range $39,671 - $44,821** About the Position This position's primary role is the Scheduler for the Office of this Secretary. The role also performs a variety of administrative support with duties including:
  • Assisting in administering the day-to-day affairs of the department by providing administrative support to the Office of the Secretary
  • Serving as an administrative liaison between the administrative staff with the divisions within the Department
  • Producing reports, tracking data, and attending committee meetings
While reporting to the Executive Coordinator, the person in this role will work with other Administrative Support staff. The work is performed in a confidential setting dealing with confidential administrative and legislative information; and may interact with legislators, senior staff members and other stakeholders. The person holding the position drafts reports and materials requiring some research and interpretation, receives, screens and reviews correspondence to determine appropriate next steps; establishes and maintains administrative procedures to include work on the Office's intranet and internet sites; coordinate and schedules meetings, conferences, travel and hearings; attends committee meetings; communicates directly with to responds to questions, requests or obtain in formation and performs related administrative duties associated with the position. Must have the flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends and occasionally make overnight trips. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid NC driver's license within 90 days of employment.
