SCADA/MES Systems EngineerLocation: On-site - Dakota Dunes, SD Headquarters Department: Systems Automation Overview: Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled SCADA/MES Systems Engineer to join their dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA and MES systems to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, understand end-user needs, and deliver tailored SCADA/MES solutions that drive operational efficiency. Additional responsibilities include plant support, PLC logic updates, and participating in pilot tests for new product lines. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Dakota Dunes, SD. Relocation assistance may be available based on eligibility. Schedule: Standard Monday-Friday schedule, plus approximately 26 Sundays per year (typically 4-hour shifts on Sundays). Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement SCADA & MES programming solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
  • Design and maintain Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens.
  • Administer Data Historians, perform database queries, validate content, and design operational reports.
  • Integrate additional data sources into existing Historian infrastructure.
  • Maintain and support SCADA/MES infrastructure and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Assist with new mechanical and electronic system development, including test environments and pilot runs.
  • Act as a departmental backup when necessary.
  • Perform all assigned duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Required Qualifications:Technical Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming for SCADA applications.
  • Experience modifying and troubleshooting SCADA systems, HMIs, and Data Historians (iFix and iHistorian preferred).
  • Skilled in C#, Visual Basic, Python, and other high-level languages.
  • Strong integration experience with PLCs and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC DA/UA).
  • Working knowledge of MSSQL, VB, and PLC logic (EcoStruxure Control Expert highly desirable).
  • General computer proficiency.

Education & Experience:
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Acceptable: 2-year technical degree in SCADA, Electrical Mechanical, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in SCADA systems development/support or industrial controls networks; manufacturing experience highly preferred.
