Sanitation Technician - Williamsport, MD - Save-A-Lot : Job Details

Work Schedule: Various Shifts AvailablePurposeThe Sanitation Technician is responsible for the general cleaning of the warehouse, offices, restrooms, break rooms and exterior grounds of the Distribution Center.Responsibilities* Gather debris and trash such as cardboard, tape, shrink wrap, paper and damaged product resulting from distribution functions, taking items to designated areas for re-coupe or disposal* Track dumped product for proper inventory adjustments and report numbers to the inventory department* Sweep, mop and dust warehouse areas including but not limited to break rooms, restrooms, offices and exterior grounds* Maintain pest control stations as required by SAL policy* Fill out required paperwork for job completion tracking.* Safely operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, sit down forklift, floor scrubber, and reach trucks* Adhere to company policies, standards and best practicesAbout You* Must be 18 years of age* High School diploma or equivalent preferred* Successful Completion of Powered Industrial Truck Operators Training (PITOT) certification required. (Training provided by the company)* Attention to detail and have strong communication skills in English* Must be able to count accurately, match and write numbers and Positive work history including safety and attendance* Strong work Ethic* Team spirit, self-motivated and initiative to support the needs of a fast pace environment* Willingness to work required shift schedules and varying days of the week including holidays and/or weekendsPhysical Requirements* Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, squat, turn, reach, pull, push and lift up to 85 pounds, in a fast pace environment for extended period of time* Regularly works in freezers, coolers and refrigerators in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit* Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time* Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist and use sawing motions for extended periods of time
