Salary: $26.86 - $30.89 Hourly Location : Georgetown: 3151 S/E Inner Loop, TX Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 14.02677 Department: Department of Infrastructure Opening Date: 08/05/2025 Closing Date: Continuous FLSA: Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARY Reporting directly to the Environmental Division Director, responsible for performing environmental inspections to ensure compliance of on-site sewage facilities (OSSF) with State and County requirements. Level II of III in Sanitarian. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
  • Reviews and generates comments of residential of on-site sewage facility permits applications for compliance.
  • Conducts and documents pre-installation, installation, and post-installation OSSF inspections
  • Conducts and documents subdivision and Water Pollution Abatement Plan (WPAP) inspections
  • Provides WPAP suitability documentation to developers
  • Reviews subdivision plans and plat reviews for compliance
  • Performs and documents public health nuisance inspections and investigations including collection of samples, case investigation and documentation
  • Compiles evidence and creates nuisance investigation reports
  • Refers enforcement cases to the County Engineer and the District Attorney
  • Performs stormwater inspections to meet the Stormwater Management Program and ensure compliance with State and County requirements
  • Meets with landowners, designers, and contractors to respond to questions and issues
  • Assists with public information requests and document management
  • Assists in the management of the maintenance records tracking system
  • Handles cash/checks or other deposits
  • Prepares State and County compliance reports
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 30 semester hours or its equivalent in a basic or applied science (refer to approved science courses are listed in 16 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 119.23.)
  • Three (3) years of experience in consumer health, environmental health, environmental laboratory sciences, wastewater treatment, engineering, or sanitation including two (2) years of experience with focus on OSSF design, installation, compliance, and enforcement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSRequired
  • Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Registered Professional Sanitarian License
  • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Site Evaluator License
  • TCEQ Designated Representative License
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
  • Valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree (refer to approved science courses are listed in 16 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 119.23.)
  • Five (5) years of experience in consumer health, environmental health, environmental laboratory sciences, wastewater treatment, engineering, or sanitation including three (3) years of experience with focus on OSSF design, installation, compliance, and enforcement
  • Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans Certification
  • ARC-GIS software knowledge including the ability to perform advanced special data analysis and editing
  • Bilingual in Spanish
