The Sanding Operations Technician is responsible for preparing wood furniture for the finishing process using appropriate tools and techniques. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow precise instructions to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Cross-training in other departments to learn additional functions is required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Use manual tools, and powered sanding tools to sand wood furniture, ensuring surfaces are smooth and prepared for finishing. Read production tickets and interpret specifications to understand sanding requirements for each furniture piece. Repair minor defects in wood frames using appropriate tools and materials. Use measuring tools, such as tape measures, to verify frame dimensions for accuracy. Process orders and requests for different brands using various operating systems.
