Sales Director - Sustainable Building Products - Base Salary to 180k/year - New York, NY

- They are seeking a Sales Director to lead regional growth efforts in New York and the Tri-State area. The Sales Director will build and guide a team of sales professionals and drive strategic revenue expansion across key construction segments, including architecture, development, and general contracting. The Sales Director position offers strong long-term opportunity for high-performing leaders with a track record of consultative selling success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow sales across the NYC and surrounding construction markets by identifying and closing new business with architects, developers, contractors, and building owners
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of Sales Reps and potentially Territory Managers in the region
- Oversee the full sales cycle from prospecting to deal close, ensuring consistent pipeline activity and account development
- Deliver in-person presentations and demos that clearly communicate the value and applications of advanced facade and energy-efficient products
- Collaborate with executive leadership, marketing, and operations to align goals and ensure a smooth handoff from sale to execution
- Monitor competitor activity, market shifts, and customer trends to refine strategy and increase market share
- Provide accurate forecasting, regular updates, and sales reports to senior leadership
- Represent the organization at major trade events, industry forums, and client meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of proven success in a sales leadership role, ideally in construction materials, facades, or energy-related building systems
- Strong closing ability and consistent record of exceeding quotas
- Understanding of the construction process and sustainable building solutions
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Ability to travel as needed within the region
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 120k -180k/year range plus commission and bonuses
- 3 - 4 weeks of PTO and sick leave, with additional accrual based on tenure
- Mileage reimbursement and gas expenses covered when travel is required
