Overview Of The RoleAs the Sales Development Manager for BJ's Wholesale and Grocery, you will manage business relationships with clients to achieve their assortment, merchandising, pricing, and promotion objectives, leading to increased market share, volume, and profitability. You will also be responsible for customer relationships, providing strategic recommendations and tactical execution of client objectives while supporting category growth goals.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the client's products, policies, and personnel while collaborating to develop realistic objectives and strategies for building the business.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer behaviors, promotional activities, demographic shifts, and industry best practices.
  • Manage client and customer relationships, including innovation, assortment, pricing, programming, shelving, and claims management.
  • Maintain appropriate records, manage access to company SharePoint sites, share files on company platforms, and oversee client and customer portals.
  • Establish professional and frequent communication with clients, supervisors, and team members, elevating issues and opportunities promptly.
  • Participate in training to enhance communication, organization, analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Work collaboratively as a team player, maintaining honesty and integrity, training subordinates, and adhering to the Code of Business Conduct.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, or four to ten years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective communication skills across various formats and audiences.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for budgeting, sales calculations, and forecasting.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and goal-setting abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean DMV report.
