Safety TechnicianLocation: McIntosh, ALContract: 6 monthsPay: $35 hr. to $45 hr.Primary tasksProvide direct oversight of contractor safetyIdentify safety non-compliancesIdentify unsafe work practices or behaviorsAssess risk to evaluate the likelihood and severity of potential hazards, apply Olin control measuresObserve contractors working on site and correct safety non-compliancesObtain Olin guidance for addressing all moderate and major non-compliancesDocument all interactionsCommunicate Olin expectations to contractorsEnforce Olin safety requirementsConduct contractor orientation using Olin-supplied material and resourcesPromote a strong safety cultureCommunicate concerns and findings to Olin dailyInspect Safe Work Permits in the field for compliancePossible additional dutiesInspect life critical safety equipment (SCBA, fire extinguishers, safety showers, etc.)Calibrate gas metersTranscribe Safe Work Permit data into a local tracking systemQualificationsTwo years' safety experienceOSHA 30 / (might be referred to as OSHA 510 or OSHA 511)Microsoft office suite of programs, to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Forms, Teams, etc.Construction safety experience preferredCHST or similar certification preferredWork conditions80% outdoor work20% officeClimbing, walking, driving golf carts, riding a bicycle, wearing chemical specific PPE (to include full-face respirator)After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
