BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. We serve all age groups with programs in family support, education, elder care, homelessness, mental health, and workforce development across 37 locations in the borough.

The Living Room is BronxWorks' central location for adult homeless services, including a drop-in center, a 50-bed safe haven, and mobile outreach. These programs provide case management, food, clothing, emergency shelter, and housing referrals.

• Ensure premises security and control access.
• Perform regular foot patrols of the facility.
• Enforce policies of BronxWorks and the Department of Homeless Services.
• Report problems promptly to supervisors.
• Maintain order and promote safety.
• Act professionally and serve as a role model, especially during crises.
• Respond effectively to altercations, medical emergencies, and child abuse or neglect situations.
• Coordinate with police and emergency services.
• Serve as Fire Safety Coordinator or Fire Guard as needed.
• Inform Shift Supervisor of issues or concerns.
• Complete formal notifications as required.
• Participate in training and staff meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including overtime if needed.

• New York State Security Guard Registration Card.
• 16-Hour On-The-Job Security Guard Training Certificate.
• First Aid / CPR Certificate (preferred).
• Fire Guard Certificate (preferred).
• Ability to write clear incident reports.
• Engaging personality and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business technology.

• Climb 120 stairs within 2 minutes.
• Drag an 80-pound bag 30 feet within 30 seconds.
• Lift a 40-pound bucket onto a table within 30 seconds.
• Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
• Travel via public transportation within NYC and nearby counties.
• TB test required within first 120 days of employment.
