Job Title: Field Safety Manager – Manufacturing (Bilingual Spanish Required)
Location: Houston, TX– Supervision of 3 Manufacturing Sites
Reports To: President
FLSA Status: Exempt
Shift: Must be available for all shifts (days, nights, weekends) to conduct safety training or in
case of a injury, etc.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Field Safety Supervisor to lead safety efforts across three
manufacturing locations, overseeing the safety and well-being of up to 300 employees across
multiple shifts. This individual must be bilingual in Spanish and will serve as a key safety
resource in the field—working directly with employees, conducting training, managing safety
compliance, and leading incident investigations.
This role is 80% field-focused and 20% environmental compliance, with an emphasis on
employee engagement, training, coaching, and enforcing safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Safety and Employee Engagement (Boots on the Ground)
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of production areas to observe safety behaviors and coach
- employees in real time.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and on-the-floor resource for safety-related questions and
- concerns.
- Deliver hands-on training to employees on safe work practices, equipment operation,
- PPE use, and job hazard awareness.
- Lead and facilitate weekly safety meetings with employees across all shifts.
- Deliver new hire safety orientations, ensuring every employee is set up for success from
- day one.
- Provide direct coaching and written safety warnings for violations or unsafe behaviors.
- Incident Management & Investigations
- Respond to all workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses.
- Lead thorough investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Document incidents and follow up to ensure closure and prevention.
- Contractor Safety Oversight
- Manage safety onboarding for all contractors.
- Ensure contractors are trained on facility-specific safety rules, procedures, and
- expectations.
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with contractor safety standards.
- Environmental Responsibilities (20%)
- Complete routine environmental inspections and reporting.
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., waste
- disposal, air emissions, spill prevention).
- Coordinate hazardous waste pickups and maintain documentation.
- CPR & Emergency Preparedness
- Certified to conduct CPR training and lead emergency response drills.
- Act as a first responder in the event of a medical emergency.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English – Required
- Minimum 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
- Proven experience conducting safety training and leading meetings
- Ability to engage employees of all levels and shift schedules
- Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-up skills
- CPR/AED Instructor Certification – or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Environmental reporting experience preferred (air, water, waste compliance)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
- Must be able to work on the floor for extended periods and respond to off-shift incidents when needed
Working Conditions:
- 80% of time in production areas across three sites
- Must be available to work and support multiple shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift as part of regular job duties
