Job Description :

Primary Purpose:

We are seeking a Safety Manager to become a part of our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing occupational health and safety programs, conducting safety training, overseeing Environment Health and Safety (EHS) protocols. Daily tasks include accident investigation, industrial safety assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. The Safety Manager acts as a champion for workplace safety, striving to create a safe and healthy environment for all Team members.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field; previous experience may be considered
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as a Certified Safety Professional or similar preferred

Safety Manager Qualifications & Requirement:

  • Experience in Safety Training and Accident Investigation
  • Proficiency in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) management
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Industrial Safety principles
  • Strong understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office for presentations and training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external teams
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Lean and/or Continuous Improvement background a plus
  • Leadership skills, such as ability to motivate a team, set a good example and provide feedback
  • Ability to maintain and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Ability to motivate & set a good example
  • Maintain company values accordingly

Safety Manager Responsibilities:

Developing and Implementing Safety Programs:

  • Creating and updating safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulations.
  • Developing and delivering safety training programs for employees.
  • Conducting risk assessments and hazard identification.
  • Establishing emergency response plans and procedures.

Ensuring Compliance and Monitoring:

  • Ensuring the workplace complies with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Monitoring employee behavior and work practices to ensure safety compliance.
  • Investigating accidents, near misses, and safety violations.

Promoting a Safety Culture:

  • Promoting a positive safety culture within the organization.
  • Educating employees about safety procedures and best practices.
  • Encouraging employees to report safety concerns and hazards.
  • Communicating safety information to employees and management.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintaining accurate safety records and documentation.
  • Preparing reports for management on safety performance and compliance.
  • Tracking safety metrics and trends.
