ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking a Safety Analysis Engineer to support the design and licensing of advanced nuclear reactors, focusing on Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analysis. This is a critical role for someone with expertise in nuclear safety analysis and systems modeling. Perform transient analyses to meet safety requirements for operational occurrences, design basis events, accidents, and beyond design basis events. Collaborate with safety methods engineers to develop computational models and Evaluation Models. Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to establish functional and safety requirements. Maintain documentation of model development and analysis. Conduct engineering reviews and contribute to system modeling for design and operational transients. Assess Evaluation Models against tests and benchmarks. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS B.S. or higher in nuclear engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of three years of experience in the nuclear field. Knowledge of nuclear systems fundamentals including thermal-hydraulic, neutronics, and reactor transient behavior. Experience in AOO, DBE, DBA, and/or BDBE analysis. Proficiency in system transient analysis software (e.g., RELAP5, SAS4A/SASSYS-1, GOTHIC, or TRACE). Experience in radionuclide transport analysis tools such as MELCOR, RADTRAD, or equivalent. Experience submitting LBEs to NRC is highly desirable. BONUS QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with SFR safety analysis or other reactor designs. Understanding of Licensing Modernization Project (NEI-18-04) guidance. Programming skills in any language. Experience working under NQA-1 and a quality assurance program. WHY AVERRO?
