Your role involves leading the S&T market within CannonDesign's Chicago office, including developing high-performance, diverse teams focused on implementing the Market Business Plan. You will contribute to the firm's success through business development, client engagement, team leadership, mentoring, and advancing work quality. You will also manage design services, oversee processes, and ensure financial performance, while embodying our brand and Living-Centered Design philosophy, helping people flourish in every client interaction.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will split your time between supporting market growth and client leadership on projects.
Success Expectations:
- Market Growth: Develop new business opportunities to achieve at least 10% annual practice growth, overseeing the market's success.
- Client Leadership: Lead and engage with clients on projects, fostering innovative solutions and strong long-term relationships for future opportunities.
- Market Brand Enhancement: Represent the market externally and internally through speaking, writing, and other promotional activities.
- Practice Support: Promote firm initiatives, mentor team members, and recruit talented professionals to build a high-performing team.
Areas of Focus
- Market Leadership: Drive strategic initiatives, develop a market business plan, and participate in global practice improvements.
- Top Line Development: Collaborate to grow the market's revenue, targeting $3.0M annually, and differentiate CannonDesign through integrated design services and Living-Centered Design principles.
- Client and Team Leadership: Lead by example, actively participate in projects, and serve as a subject matter expert.
- Market Understanding: Stay informed on trends and best practices to identify growth opportunities.
- Bottom Line Success: Work with leadership to meet profitability goals, aiming for at least 10% firm-wide profit annually.
- Staff Development: Mentor, recruit, and foster a diverse, inclusive team environment that encourages leadership and innovation.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Registration/licensure in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 12 years' experience in strategic growth, market and team leadership, with success in the Science and Technology Market.
- Additional relevant certifications are preferred.
- Strong presentation skills and client leadership abilities.
- Professional maturity, authentic communication, and sound judgment.
- Proven business acumen and strategic execution skills.
- Ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
