Route Merchandiser Job Description

** **Basic Function:** Loading, delivering and properly merchandising products such as snacks, soft drinks, fresh food, coffee, coffee supplies and other miscellaneous items to replenish vending machines and markets to customer locations contracted by Burch Food Services.**

****Job Duties:**

* Drive a company vehicle and replenish customer vending machines and/or markets with products

* Daily cleaning and sanitizing of vending machines and markets

* Responsible for ordering fresh food for markets and food vending machines utilizing web-based ordering portal

* Daily checks of products in markets and vending machines to make sure they are fresh and in date

* Merchandise and rotate products daily in markets in according to company guidelines

* Responsible for documenting spoilage that was removed into mobile device

* Responsible for scanning in fresh food, milk and coffee restocks daily into mobile device for accurate product accountability

* Conduct weekly inventory in markets and vending machines

* Reports all inventory shortages to management for theft investigation

* Responsible for the safe handling of fresh food from the warehouse to customer locations. All fresh food must be stored in refrigerated coolers and fresh food must stay within safe temperature guidelines while on the route.

* Daily verifies and records temperature of coolers on log sheets

* Utilizes company operating systems and mobile devices in accordance with company standards to maintain accurate inventory levels

* Ensures all kiosks, surveillance monitors, digital media and vending machines are in working order.

* Assures all mechanical problems with equipment are reported to the office in a timely manner

* Responsible for collections from vending machines and markets to the office for counting

* Responsible for stocking condiments and allied products that are contracted to be supplied at customer locations

* Maintains a safe working environment by using every reasonable effort to achieve accident prevention

* Always exemplifies a positive attitude with customers and co-workers

* Promptly resolves any requests, issues, or concerns as they arise from customers and or Burch Food Services Management

**Requirements:**

* Must be 21 years old

* Must have a valid drivers license

* Must have a clean driving record

* Must be able to lift 50lbs on a consistent basis

* Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen and background check

* Must obtain a DOT certification

* Must be willing to work in all weather conditions**

**Summary:** The Route Merchandising Specialist drives a company vehicle over an established route, loading, delivering and properly merchandising products such as snacks, soft drinks, fresh food, coffee, coffee supplies and other miscellaneous items to replenish vending machines and markets to customer locations contracted by Burch Food Services. The driver maintains vending and related equipment, minimizing spoilage, and working with their supervisor to develop and implement plans to properly service vending customers. The Route Merchandising Specialist is the face of the company and must project a professional and positive image of the company at all times while maintaining and building excellent client and customer relationships.
