Appliance Removal Driver
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Appliance Removal Driver will lead the daily Appliance Pickup Process. Utilizing a 26-foot Box truck they will respond to prescheduled appointments to collect appliances to be recycled while ensuring high quality customer interaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Primarily works as the lead for a two-man crew to safely remove appliances from the customer home. This includes travel time, meeting with customers, and removing identified appliances.
- Operating a 26' box truck, with lift gate, to complete pre-scheduled appointments.
- Meet established daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators.
- Display professional appearance.
- Track/Report pickups and deliveries using mobile or handheld device.
- Collaborate with the program's team/leadership to identify and recommend areas of improvement.
- Load and unload appliances with assistance.
- The ability to lift at least 100 pounds with manual equipment such as shoulder straps/shoulder dolly.
- Perform related work as required.
Qualifications
- Valid chauffeur license and good driving record.
- 2 3 years of experience operating 26-foot box trucks (with air brakes).
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance.
- Ability to use and operate handheld mobile or computer devices.
- Exercises good judgment and maintain safety requirements at all times.
- Able to lead, motivate, be diplomatic, and build positive rapport with customers.
- Able to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals.
- Able to work independently and with a team.
- Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Able to bend, stoop, and reach.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check, drug screening, and DOT Physical.
Minimum Requirements
- Able to work in very fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solver: Able to respond to diverse set of challenges in the field and do whatever it takes to meet project deliverables on schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical.
- Able to lift 75 lbs. or more and maneuver load safely.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of furniture or appliance delivery experience (loading and unloading).
- 2-3 years of customer service experience.
- Experience with Customer Management Systems/Databases.
