Job Requirements

Rotor Wing Pilot in Command: Must hold a current Commercial Pilot or ATP rotorcraft certificate with an Instrument Rating. Current class II medical certificate. At least 2,500 PIC flight hours in helicopters, including 500 cross-country hours (with 100 at night), and 75 hours of actual or simulated time (50 in actual flight). Weight in flight uniform must be less than 206 lbs. Must pass a part 135.293 check ride after INDOC training. All candidates are required to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT FAA regulations and Intermountain's policies. Candidates will be provided with testing documents and informed about substances tested.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Qualification
  • Mountain flying experience above 8,500 feet
  • EMS Experience
  • 300 flight hours at night
  • Actual IFR experience

Physical Requirements

  • Verbal communication and hearing ability to understand spoken information
  • Ability to support and lift aviation and clinical equipment, including heavy items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move within confined spaces in aircraft
  • Ability to operate equipment requiring fine finger movements
  • Visual ability to read monitors and documents

Job Description

The Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for safe aircraft operations following FAA regulations and manufacturer's guidelines. We are hiring for multiple locations including Winnemucca, Cortez, Los Alamos, and Burley Air Bases, with an annual salary range of $41.11-$58.75 per hour, depending on experience and location. Essential functions include operating aircraft safely and effectively, maintaining knowledge of aviation regulations, communicating effectively with team members and patients, ensuring aircraft safety and cleanliness, and participating in ongoing training and safety initiatives. The role may also involve assisting medical crew and evaluating pilot performance as an Instructor or Check Pilot.

Skills required include aircraft operations, flight testing, helicopter operations, IFR, rotorcraft, leadership, patient lifting, and general aviation knowledge.
