We are seeking an Operating RN to join our team!
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Operating Room RN located in Boston, MA. The Operating Room RN will be responsible for assisting in surgeries, preparing operating rooms, ensuring patient safety, and monitoring patients' conditions during procedures. Additional responsibilities include managing surgical instruments, coordinating with the surgical team, and maintaining sterile conditions. The role also involves patient education, postoperative care, and documentation of surgical procedures. The OR is open 24/7 and staffed accordingly. Call begins at 5pm during the week and continues on weekends. Weekend rotations average 1-2/year. We do 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts. Our RNs act as circulators and scrub nurses.
Qualifications
RN licensure in the State of Massachusetts
Completion of Peri Op 101 Course
Experience in operating room procedures and patient care during surgery
Strong understanding of surgical instruments and sterile techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to operate medical equipment and perform advanced patient monitoring
Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred
