Location:Towson, MD

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Mon-Fri 6:30am-3pm

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated RN Supervisor to lead and support a compassionate nursing team consisting of 5 GNAs and 1 Charge Nurse. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing patient care, clinical operations, and staff supervision while ensuring compliance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Duties

  • Deliver direct patient care and ensure high standards of nursing practice.
  • Conduct frequent rounds to evaluate resident needs and resolve clinical concerns.
  • Promptly carry out physician orders; clarify unclear directions as needed.
  • Assess resident conditions and develop clear care directives for staff.
  • Notify physicians and family members of significant changes in resident status.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Act as Charge Nurse when assigned, overseeing the clinical activities of your unit.
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately in accordance with staff competencies and policies.
  • Supervise and observe staff performance; provide real-time coaching and support.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of care provided by all staff.
  • Complete staff performance evaluations in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Manage call-outs and ensure consistent staffing coverage for all units.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Report unit concerns and interventions to the Director of Nursing (DON).
  • Keep DON and Unit Manager informed of resident conditions, unit activities, and staff issues.
  • Foster a respectful and collaborative environment for residents, families, and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Maryland (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
  • Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing best practices, regulations, and patient care standards.
  • Strong clinical competencies including:

-IV line management

-Dialysis care coordination

-Suprapubic catheter care

-Nephrosis management
