This critical care step-down unit is committed to delivering exceptional, evidence-based care to our adult patients who require more specialized attention than what is available in a general medical-surgical unit. Our unit features 26 beds and caters to patients transitioning from various areas, including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality nursing care to adult, acute care patients with specialized needs.- Monitor patients through continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry.- Administer airway management and acute BIPAP support as required.- Manage patients with arterial lines, central lines, and those needing titrated medicated IV infusions.- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to adapt care for individual patient needs.- Utilize rapid response teams and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac drips without titration.- Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and infection control standards. Qualifications: - Active New York State nursing license is required.- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience in a critical care or intermediate care environment.- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.- Proficiency in the EPIC charting system is essential.- Experience managing critical care patients, particularly with dysrhythmias and IV infusions. Unit Details: - The facility operates a tertiary care hospital with 528 total staffed beds.- Nurses will be required to float to other units as necessary based on patient care needs.- A flexible approach to scheduling and care delivery is required.
