As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting various surgical procedures and ensuring the highest standard of patient care. This position demands a strong collaboration with surgical teams and effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings. - Assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties including General Surgery, Urology, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, and Podiatry. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Radiology. - Maintain patient safety and comfort by monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient conditions. - Participate in on-call rotations (1:6) and fulfill weekend, weekday, and holiday responsibilities as required. - Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations and maintain sterile environments. Qualifications: - Minimum of 1 year of surgical nursing experience. - Valid NY state nursing license required at the time of submission. - Current ACLS certification. - Ability to scrub and assist through various surgical procedures is a plus. - Must be able to respond to the hospital within 20-30 minutes for emergent cases. Unit Details: - Operates with 5 rooms and 5 beds. - Daily census of approximately 20 patients across multiple specialties. - Must float between departments as needed.
